i notice in the match EG vs Loaded (Which PYYYOUR did boss on and Caseey did well, but not the same Caseey i remember) that Enigma and Carnage both went sniper at one point. care to explain anyone?

On gpit B attack:

2 scouts and 0 sniper/spy means you want your push to be strong, letting your sollies/demo make a strong play for roof while your scouts defend your med, getting your picks over the course of the push.

1 scout and 1 sniper/spy ("standard") means you want to play a bit more passive and rely on a headshot or backstab to allow you to commit to a push. Also has the benefit of enabling you to pick the enemy sniper, and do pick attempts in general without commiting anything but your sniper (hopefully overhealed).

0 scouts and 2 sniper/spy means you want to rely completely on picks from your utility classes to initiate a push. Your jumpers can't make as strong of a play for roof because someone has to watch your med, but this works well when both of your utility players get picks. That's what happened in the EG/Loaded match. Clearly, this style also has the benefit of giving your second sniper more of an opportunity; in that match, EG was focused on carnage at long after paladin had gone down, and wasn't paying any attention to enigma from C (probably assuming he was still scout). Despite the fact that he was standing under a sticky trap, he got the bodyshot on casey to end the round.

Scouts become exponentially more potent when they are used in pairs, and if you only use one scout you're basically making a gimped push with the hope that the sniper will get at least one pick. If you're not making a concerted effort to push and are just waiting for important picks, you might as well run two snipers, as the scout is basically dead weight until your team drops out of the tunnels to push.

yeah i understand that one of the best class team's is like scout team (also pocket and medic) kinda like Enigima (spelling?) and carnage. but the 2 sniper deal def pulled off when facing EG on Gpit. great strat i think TF2 is not done seeing and will be used in ESEA-i S5!

Eager -

What I am about to say is kind of defunct since Enigma was able to kill the Engi, Dispens, Sentry, all alone as a scout BUT,

There are moments on every map where your doing nothing and there is opportunity for "picks."

Enigma has always been a top sniper, same with Carnage, so if your team feels comfortable with your soldiers ability to protect your Medic from flank, you can run any utility class you want.

Literally we could have put an Engi on C and had a delayed Heavy push from Short.

Most teams fail at covering their flank during these moments and fail to realize the opportunity in standstill

i understand now a little. im still sorta new to the play style here but i get the main picture. alot of science towards comp TF2. love it

Than whats a good way for the med (Caseey) to handle the two sniper situation?
treat it the same as if there is only one or a different way?

I was actually going to address the positioning of casey in my previous post but felt it might come off alittle preachy.

Its a mix of coverage and the combo position.

For some reason they allowed us to easily access B from the "fence" side and "tire" side doors.

Personally, as medic, if I know a team is running a sniper, I will limit my position to only areas I know I wont get sniped easily. Inside the house, near the rock ramp, near the fence ramp. Bottom line I don't want to die with uber, which cripples defenses on GPIT.

EG should have pushed their combo towards C to help with the spawn camp or at the least not be positioned like fish in a barrel.

But honestly, the GPIT victory was less about EG's shortcomings and more about Loaded's individual performances. Sometimes no matter how well you play, you are going to get dunked on.

In that match EG performed the normal response to a sniper at long that just killed their sniper: get back to shady side so they still have dodging room + can jump roof but can't be seen.

Their error was that no-one was watching C. It's rather odd that none of them even looked at the door after retreating to shady. As uncommon as it is to see 2 snipers (especially since enigma had just switched iirc), it should have been checked. There were 4 stickies sitting above enigma's head when he killed casey - 1 person looking would have been enough to end that threat.

If they had realized that there were 2 snipers, casey would probably hide behind the rock ramp (good enough cover if someone's spamming long) or try to get on the point while spam was thrown at enigma (or he was just killed by the trap/a scout), then they'd move into a defense from shady side.
