Who has issues with posts on this forum? When writing up a big post... i guess because I\'m sitting on the reply screen for too long.. after I click on Submit... it tells me \"You do not have write access to this forum\" and shows me as logged off and is asking me to login or register... but if I press back... it shows me logged on again.. and if I make a quick post.. it posts jus fine and keeps logged in. Is there some issue here? Or am i the only one this happens to?

The forums are set to auto log you out after a certain amount of time.

The thing is... it doesn\'t seem to log me out.... if i sit on the forums idle.. it doesn\'t log me out.. the only time it \"seems\" to log me out.. is if I\'m sitting idle on the reply screen (where you type up your posts).
And again... it doesn\'t \"technically\" log me out since I can just hit back.. and i\'m logged in again... (i don\'t have to type in my info to log in).. after I hit back to get back to the posting screen... it does say I\'m logged in again.
Its just frustrating for me because i\'ll type up a post.. say what i need to say.. then I hit submit... it tells me i\'m not logged in.. when i click back to get the posting screen.. my text is gone.. so i have to retype my post again.

Not sure about the exact issue that you are citing but Fireboard is pretty nitpicky with session timers. One thing you can do (until we get vBulletin) is to copy your big posts before you press submit. That way if you get logged out before you can post, you can just log in, paste, and submit.

yea thats what i\'ve been doing.. but sometimes i forget. :S
I\'m at work right now... and sometimes in the middle of a post.. something comes up (a call comes in or something) and I leave the reply screen open for a very long time. So i realized I\'ve finished my post... and hit submit.. then i lose everything .. lol freakin\' frustrating! oh well..

Yea sorry about that. Open source components have their flaws. I will talk to Ben about this issue though to see if we can do something about it.

The textarea backup script for the greasemonkey firefox extension makes this a nonissue.
