As per jinn's orders, I've made this thread so that Kuiper and I can keep tabs on all of the information having to do with our Map Testing Program Team thing.
My intention is to keep this thread as up to date as I can with the information about who exactly is apart of this group we have, along with links to the threads where we evaluate each map that we review.
Feel free to comment as you like here, though.
jinn also wanted me to provide a list of who is in this group, so here it is:

Sounds like a great idea to me! Anything to keep us from having to juggle a ton of different maps for each league and season. Since CEVO is partially involved with this already (sorta?), maybe it'd be beneficial to bring in others from TWL, ESEA, UGC, etc.?

that's our goal, but as of right now its just CEVO.

As a mapper I think this is great! It's been hell trying to get my own map tested so far, and beyond that I try whenever I can to get any custom played. It's just really shitty how people don't care about the maps that people make specifically for this community. Without knowing someone or having power it seems impossible to get your map any attention. That said, I think this is a show of good will to mappers, a lot of whom have felt put off by the community's poor attitude.
Here's a helpful link for you guys. I don't know how you intend to get testing, so my thoughts were that you could team up with several of the IRC/steam pug channels and work on getting the word out. Here's one steam group that will be useful:
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/CustomCompMaps
Also, hang out at tf2m some time. If you got the know the mappers it would go a long way to speeding up the process.

I'll help test, sure. Might not have the best feedback that you could find, but at least I'm somebody.
Just kidding I'm a nobody :(

i found a post on gotfrag in the counterstrike forums that really falls in line with what we're trying to do and motivates me to keep what we have going. i thought i'd post it here as food for thought because i think that what this guy had in mind more than 5 years ago when he posted this is pretty much what we have in mind right now:
they're never going to fix this, people just would rather play the same map instead of always switching it up, that's how counter-strike is run.. there's no corporation or management on who plays what maps
for instance in Starcraft you have KeSPA, every season there's a range from 2-5 new maps that players HAVE to play because those maps are forced into the leagues. Some maps do stay around for awhile but there are always new maps to play(and after awhile those older maps from previous seasons get pushed out), this keeps the scene fresh and keeps people watching.. but games like CS and war3 will never have something like this
i regret that i didn't have his post to quote in the article i wrote announcing the group... ㅋㅋ

tonight, we as a group have made our final decision on what 10 maps will be in this coming season of cevo. kuiper will make a post on the front page of the website in the next week or two giving the list and explaining why we chose each one for all of you to see.

I wouldn't mind joining the group. I love the custom maps and am a mapper myself. I used to run custom map testing nights in my clan a while back.

So yeah, we gave birth to our baby and now we're going to take advantage of the government-mandated maternity leave, unless any leagues decide to stop by asking for our opinion on a maplist for them.
After the maternity leave is over, though, we will get to making a list of competitive-worthy TF2 maps so that the community has some kind of register for them.
