What do you guys think of the highlander style of TF2 (1 of each class, 9v9)? I have begun playing it on the Lost Continents servers with my friend daniel and it is surprisingly enjoyable. It gives each class time to shine, unlike 6v6.

Would you like to see a powerful league like CEVO offering events in this gamestyle?

Highlander is awesome for players that want to specialize in a little used class, like pyro, spy, engineer, or sniper. Unfortunately, it makes the game much more difficult for soldiers, scouts, and medics.

I prefer the 8v8 setup with the 6v6 class limits. Its the best of both worlds really.

Surveying for next season? Never played highlander myself but I've heard mixed opinions about it. Is TWL the only league that does it or does UGC too?

I am not sure but I remember hearing about STA and UGC in the past.

Well, UGC is considering running an 8v8 league with 6s limits next season instead of a 7s league.

When CAL first started out, they had an 8v8 league, but it was 3 of every class except 2 medics and 2 demos. That was really lame because then every team ran 3 soldiers/2 med/2 demo/1 spy/sniper/heavy/scout. Xensity stomped everyone in the league because they were able to run 3 soldiers AND 2 medics. That is just like asking for them to win. That was back when andrew, yaug, and solid snake were on xensity.

I think it's a mode that will always be relegated to ladders. It's fun, and there are some teams that really enjoy it, but it's such a small niche that the activity on any given ladder is maybe 2 matches a week. Not only that, with a single medic, trying to push into 9 players is like slamming into a brick wall. The pacing is just so incredibly slow it's really hard to get used to once you've played 6's :(

I feel like I spend half the match either trying to catch up to or fall back to the medic. The team size / medic count ratio = fail, especially on larger maps.
