Greetings

With the introduction of cp_gullywash (http://etf2l.org/forum/maps/topic-2009/?recent=99140) to the ETF2L map pool for the upcoming season I'd like to put out a request for any strategy ideas/tips that anyone might have for it. I'm coming to this map with a totally clean slate and have absolutely no idea how my clan should set up on it (although I like the look of the layout and think it has potential to be a lot of fun). If anyone has any ideas for anything from the mid rush, setting up to hold/push each point, class selection, or even just trying to establish some handy community-wide naming conventions for the different areas of the map that'd be awesome.

Thanks very much

Spaceboy

Gullywash is a pretty new map. This is especially true in America. Europe has seen plenty of it, as most of the release candidates were in mpuk's map rotation at one point or another, and it's being used in ETF2L, but as of right now no leagues are using it (though this could change in the very near future) and the pickup channels have been sticking to older maps lately.

Dignitas and PowerGaming played this map yesterday in an ETF2L match. The result has not been verified by admins, so the matchpage (http://etf2l.org/matches/12917/) has no result yet.

Demos of the match can be found at: http://www.resupply.eu/index.php?site=files&file=32

Some might find it helpful to get a basic grasp of how the game could be played.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't see this when i posted. Only the first two rounds of Gullywash is present in the demo.

Sorry ladies and gents, the Gullywash demo is a bit b0rked because Moose forgot to start recording again after the server died.

When my team scrimmed on gullywash, and later played a match against crack clan on it, we found that swapping a soldier for a heavy was without a doubt a viable strategy.

As far as team strategies, defending last you really should have someone on the point at all times, given that the water route can lead to a quick ninja cap. Probably a heavy or soldier.

But what do I know, I just run around with my scattergun and flank, while the core of my team is doing their strat stuff. :D
