Newb question, yes, how do I use custom crosshairs for survivors?

I recently saw a small, green one that looked really cool, but wasn't sure how to customize it in L4D

Then adjust colors using cl_crosshair
Mine is currently purple with settings:
cl_crosshair_alpha 255
cl_crosshair_blue 255
cl_crosshair_green 0
cl_crosshair_red 138

Do I type in like, cl_crosshair green, I'm still a bit confused

No you have to change the values of the color. Just mess around with it and you'll eventually get the color you want.
