We're a TWL Div 3a team and we are looking to play in CEVO-A. Add that to the fact that we play in the TWL ladders and you get too many matches to play per week. The plan is to expand the team and divide our focus on CEVO and TWL separately, which means we need more members.
Before I get too far in, I would encourage those who think they can do better to try out for the team. I want players who choose our team over the competition and not those who think this is the best they can do. Besides, it'll be fun to play a few tryout scrims.
EVGA sponsors the team by providing us with servers, although nothing beyond that yet. Our skill level is somewhere in the void known as "low/mid". We're a very stable team that is looking to get better, but it feels like we're playing at 70% of our potential. We typically scrim starting at 9:30 EST.
The plan is to have two teams: A and B (names pending vote). Team A will focus on CEVO and team B will focus on TWL. This will not be a strict split and we expect members to be flexible and fill in when needed. Practice days (more importantly, time on the server) will be divided on a team basis with priority given to members on that particular team. This all may change, but it is the way that we will try to run things.
We are looking for: (Team A)
- One solid, starting scout. We have been through five different starters since the end of the last TWL season and I am kind of fed up with perpetually promoting backups (I am the other starting scout). I want somebody who is willing to work with the team and actively try to out-perform.
- One backup soldier. We have two very active soldiers on the team who have cemented themselves on the team, but are getting a bit stale. A little competition could do wonders, and we do need the backup.
- One backup medic. Our medic rarely misses a match/scrim, but it is unfair to rely on him every single day. We would prefer somebody who could also fit the above two roles if needed.
We are looking for: (Team B)
- Anybody. You don't need competitive experience, but we will hold tryouts and experience will certainly help. The classes you are allowed to apply for are: scout, soldier, demo, or medic (the usual). Flexibility is a great thing and mention if you can play multiple of the above classes, including sniper.
Requirements:
- One working microphone.
- A likable personality. We expect you to talk outside of matches.
- Previous competitive experience would be great, but is not mandatory for those who plan to play on Team B. None < TF2Lobby < #pug.na < Ringing < Team.
What we offer:
- We offer a stable team. We have been playing together for a while now and this is second-nature for us. We will not disband any time soon.
- We also offer a lot of experience. While we want you to have experience as well, we can help you improve your game. This is especially true for Team B players, because the point of the second team is to help you improve.
- We are a chill group of players who enjoy to play organized TF2.
- EVGA will pay any tournament registration fees if the team improves to that level. That is on top of the free servers.

Oh, and install Mumble when you have a chance. I will try to remind people before tryouts.
THANKS.
