FURNACE CREEK
(cp_furnace_b4)
by Nineaxis and Youme
A 3-point Attack/Defend Capture Point map (like Gravelpit). The map is set at sunset, in the desert, where RED is building a parabolic solar array to power a solar ray.

I've seen this posted in the TF2F forums. It seems pretty good. I'll have to check it out.

I have never tried this map either but I am excited to check it out. Perhaps we could use it in the next CEVO event. I am dying for some new community maps to get in the mix...that's why I started my map. I am going to get back on mapmaking this weekend most likely.
What's your name on steam, Nineaxis?
That looks sick.
Are there any demo servers up for this?

Would love to see it played competitively. Furnace is pretty much solid for "pub" play, we released B4 with changes mostly to improve it for comp. Would love to hear how it plays, and any suggestions to make it better. If it does get played, a SourceTV demo would be great, if possible.

Nope. :(
It's in the TF2Maps.net (http://tf2maps.net) servers' rotations. I think the ClanWoof customs server runs it. Otherwise, it's just some random servers here and there. Hopefully some more people will pick it up.

Its a really great map guys. Extremely well made and it looks really nice, plays even better.
What this map basically comes down to, is whether or not you like gpit. Not to rip on this map (because I do like it), but it is the gravelpit setup with slight twists on each cp (kinda like how gullywash compares to badlands). The 3 point A/D gametype is very limited for layout.

I'm working to get out an RC that is good for comp, and could use a little more feedback.
Here's two test versions I compiled based on feedback given on cp_furnace_b4. Test4 has further adjusted spawntimes and 30 second caps for A & B (lowered from 35), and test5 has the adjusted spawntimes and 26 second caps for A & B. If you could compare these against B4 and give some feedback, it'd be great.
