View Full Version : Hacking Proof

The fact that there is a hacker in the community should not go unnoticed just because his hacks are terrible and the team he is on is unimpressive.
Currently known as thehorror, he plays for ::SHL:: and shouldn't be allowed in future tournaments, or at least he should be put on a "watch closely" list.
The following is a compilation of demos from three of our team members, put together by Tapeworm Mike to some terrible music.

For those of you who are going to say, "WELL YOU CANT SEE VERY WELL SO HOW CAN YOU PROVE IT," there is a small button near the bottom right of the window that says "HD." Please use it.
Infected make noise when spawned i'm sure you know this which is the case in every clip you presented.

thread from nexus calling someone out for hacks?
Count me in.

After watching all the way to the mid-way point, I'd say he was just really bad and his mouse was bugging out, but after watching how he killed those zombies while surrounded, I'd say he is a hacker. It pops from head to head in the most unnatural way.
Good find.
all you've done here is make a decent survivor frag video for someone else. I didnt see any redic snaps or head shots - most of the kills were close quarters chest shots. the only "suspicious" moments were went he was following ghosts - but sound does that easy enough. If he was 1deage'ing hunters mid air or following non close quarter models through walls that would be something else.

Where is the proof? so you show clips of times when he just happen to be looking at someone through the wall? next time don't edit a demo to prove someone is hacken.
This is like taking evidence and pissing on it.
Though the spins do look wierd he might just be a noob with a nice mouse with sensitivity jacked all the way up.
loser - did you play bf2 with the nexus guys? From this post alone im guessing not, as alexb or hotbutter have more common sense not to post something this retarded.
If he is hacking the video is extremely weak and doesn't show much proof.

.dem or stfu
editting a dem and making a avi of your .dem does little to nothing.
You can hear a smoker plain as day if it around the corner. And I am sure since all the others were shooting the tank in the middle he might have known where it is.
If you really think someone is hacking in a scrim/pub. Take a Rcon status or status. Record demos and post that. Making an avi could leave out a lot.

I hope you lost to them in that scrim.
he didn't shoot a single hunter out of the air. i was waiting for it. bUt he sure was good at killing common infected and those smokers. dannnnng

Please note that the following is not a flame.
RE: de7h, xan, sweet-jesus-tea, and Alex.
What the demo was largely trying to point out was NOT that he would sometimes look at ghosts or spawned in special through walls. That can pretty much happen to anyone by accident. I'm familiar with the concepts of sound, prefiring, and shooting through walls. That's not what I'm accusing him of. What I meant you all to look at was his crosshair and the way he aims. As Ridley pointed out, there are absurdly uncanny jumps from target to target with ridiculous speed and accuracy (which is shown nowhere else in his gameplay), and when his crosshair gets close enough to a particular special infected, it has this funny way of completely spazzing out as though his mouse were being assaulted by a vibrator which is the way typical aimbots work.
Also, I specifically stated that his hacks are terrible. From that you shouldn't expect to see the "deagling" of hunters out of the air.
RE: ninojman
I can send you my demo, but this is a compilation of the demos of the three of us doing our best to find him in first person spectator within the short 20 seconds you have between each death during the finale. For others you would have to contact my teammates.
RE: Nightmerrr
Sorry to get your hopes up. I didn't put this up because I'm a sore loser, because in fact we didn't lose. I put it up because garbage like this shouldn't be tolerated in gaming communities.
RE: Everyone else.
Any more concerns or ridiculous statements I will gladly respond to.
sorry, but i don't cheat and im better than him, so let him continue to be worthless.

This is why cheating accusations shouldn't be made public. The majority of people in this community don't know what hacks look like. A prime example would be the Princess Buttercup video from a while back.

I really think you don't know many people in this community, nor their experience. What competitive community do you come from? The ability to judge an aimbot from a demo that has been recorded on who knows what kind of PC(s) and then compressed with fraps and then steamed on Youtube is next to impossible. I could replicate what was seen in this video from my shit pc. I agree that this shit shouldnt be public until its proven though.

i can list 3 players who are established competitive players in this thread. you are correct. a large majority of the community are brand new to competitive gaming.

Quality is hardly compromised to the point if the video not being admissible as evidence of cheats. If you're suggesting that the video was edited (beyond the slow motion effects) to fabricate cheater-like game play... insert flame here. If the demoui is within the screen, you can see that the tick counter doesn't jump around like something else in that video.
The only sense in which this post is retarded is that when making this post I clearly forgot to take into account who 90% of the community is composed of.
XAN: I don't know many people in this community, but they make it perfectly clear their experience, or lack thereof, or failure to learn from their experience. I excuse specifically Ramsey, Ridley, and anyone else who had something intellectual to say that wasn't "LOLUMAD HOWS TASTE MY PP." Also, xan.. aren't you a part of team "balls in your mouse?" That speaks tremendously venerable volumes on your behalf, I'm sure.
I probably won't be coming back to this thread because this community gives me headaches.
I'll address serious concerns/questions/requests on IRC.
You can find me at nexus|Allstar and I usually idle #l4d.

GG's on your vocabulary - mommy and daddy would be proud. I love the fact that you exclude the only two who agreed with you. Also - congrats on being a part of NeXus - clearly they picked up L4D on behalf of their members that have played with them for years. Make sure you do not close that IRC window - im sure your going to get hammered with requests on how you discovered this dangerous hacker, and how they can learn from your clearly proven AC skills. Sucks that you get headaches from reading random posts from random people on the interweb, try Tylenol. What should be giving you a headache is how much time you sunk into creating a movie to call someone out that failed. if you wernt spending so much time trying to spectate someone, you proabbly could of formulated some sort of plan to actually cause damage to that team. The video proves nothing, which you posted in a thread entitled "HACKING PROOF".

If that's an aimbot he's using, he's failing hard with it.. Also, you'd think the spinning crap would be a script.

Experience has next to nothing to do with AC ability. I've known CAL AC admins that sucked at determining whether or not someone hacked.

04-09-2009, 06:40 PM
Some AC admins are sadly picked up namely due to friendship with another AC admin or the ACM thereof, or they get the position and choose to be lazy with actually putting the necessary time in analyzing a demo. Being able to determine cheating isn't as easy as most expect it to be.. it's hardly a simple case of just seeing an aimbot snapping around or a guy tracing through walls, especially in higher level of competitive play. There's very minute things that have to be noticed that make AC work more of an acquired trait with those who are naturally perceptive to said detail.
The only apparent cheating I saw, was maybe ghost hacking that's it. His aim was terrible, and his melees looked like the had barely any use.

I FUCKING LOL'D.
If this guy's a hacker he definitely needs to work at it. All I'm seeing is a random guy who sucks at aiming. What I'm really wondering is why you had to dub this video with music and add slow-mo to it.
Great work, very deserving of an Oscar.

stop being idiots. this kid is clearly hacking maybe you could say "he just happened to be looking where infected were" but he doesnt only look in ther direction but TRACES them threw walls. he didnt have any crazy shots, maybe he was just walling but his crosshair did snap alot. probably just bad cheats, but definatly cheats. people who are saying this video is stupid and this guy doesnt cheat clearly have not been playing online games for long and are ignorant

I was hoping you would send me the .dem after I'd asked for it so that I could relive me shooting your hunters out of the air, (which is the only reason they were butthurt enough to make the accusation) yet why haven't you added any of these kills to this unbiased video of evidence? Maybe because they were contrary to your argument?
As far as the situation itself, I'm somewhat disgusted by a team that would call themselves "pro" and be sponsered, no less. I heard about this after the match was over when they began their campaign of discreditment by telling all my teammates that I was clearly aimbotting, a match that they won by the way--but clearly not by as much as they would have liked. Plus, they made their accusation before enough time had passed for one to even load a .dem, I mean come on, at least pretend to have watched it first.
I saw things that are suspicious in the video, one was me being bad shooting at a hunter that was pouncing by offscreen and just happening to have my crosshair on one of their ghosts. But coincidence is hardly proof. Any shaking is due to my Razer mouse's sensitivity being very high mixed with shaky hands and caffeine. Hardly helps me in any case. As for the spinning, I hope you knew that you can increase the effectiveness of a single melee by rotating and thus hitting a larger area.
PLEASE post the whole demo and let's have somebody who knows this stuff well have a look at it. I only regret not having taken a demo myself, as I have in every game since. As flattering as it is to be accused by pub noobs, I just feel sorry for you guys. I could see if I were useless on infected, but the demo would show that is not the case.

It's always funny when someone feels they have to defend themselves, cheating or not. Let the public do the opinion making to confirm/deny the person's accusations.

The only part of the entire video that was even semi-suspicious was at the 2:58 mark with the very unnatural movement between common infected. Even still, it's very possible that that was just a result of video compression more than anything. Evidence here was beyond inconclusive, convince me more.
That being said, Princess Buttercup's video was a LOT more incriminating than this, and I'm still surprised it's not being looked at more.

I'm just posting to see post count here, so I don't get called out on it
He isn't hacking, at least not based on what I just watched
Really, nothing looked like hacking at all. The most suspicious thing was his crossahair shacking. I'll believe his excuse, but even if that is not true, it's not grounds for calling out hacks.

You're welcome, some people seemed very confused on the subject
too bad old demo's don't work anymore. I have some of players shooting hunters doing a high pounce. The hunter dies mid air and his body does a 180 and goes the complete opposite direction with his crosshairs on the hunter the whole time, lolz.
but I don't care to point out blatant hackers.

Just because a Hunter is in midair does not mean he is invicible :P
I know im a late comer to this party, but why the fuck would you add all the extra bullshit to the "proof" i.e. sound effects and video if you actually wanted to try and present evidence. All you did was make a avi which anyone can shoot down due to compression, editing blah blah blah.
Secondly why wait till you cant even view the demo anymore if you had such solid proof.
Any real AC person would look at your "proof" and laugh simply because its your edited version of what is going on. I'm not saying you're right or wrong, or he is or isnt guilty, all im saying is your proof is laughable becasue of the form you presented it in (and the way you presented it too)
