just get a windows error saying left4dead.exe has expierenced an error and had to end, or some nonsense, doesnt even begin to load up. any ideas?

right clikc the game, goto properties, then go to local files. Then click on verify the intergrity of the game.

It will check all your files. Should be good after that.

i fixed it by installing cod4 and updating direct x...

Is this on your new comp, Dan? And if so, did you reinstall once putting all the new parts in, or are you running everything with your prior install?
