Got my new laser mouse (upgraded from optical 2000 dpi mouse) having jitter problems, for those who have had previous issues with this(pretty much 99% of all laser mice have had this problem since the dawn of it) how did you combat it? What surface suits it the most to minimize said issue? Any adjustments?

What i've done (so far) is went to CP < Mouse < Pointer options < removed pointer precision. Seemed to help quite a bit, and picked up an old beat up solid plastic mouse pad(would like a solid metal one from steel series or razer any idea if one of these pads is a huge fix or just rubbish for jitter issues?) helped alot over my soft cloth plastic pad.

Thanks

Never had that problem except occasional spazzing on a super-old generic logitech mouse.

I've got an MX518 and I just use a piece of paper for a mousepad and that's never happened to me. I use mouse accel too.

Maybe bad drivers?

Most of the time I've seen laser mice with jitter problems, cleaning the laser lens has fixed it. If your mouse is new, that's probably not the issue, but it may be worth a try.

None of my laser mice have "always" had this problem.

wooden tops actually work very well. Also very gritty feeling surfaces kinda like dull sand paper works well for tracking. If you are getting jittering it is most likely that you are using a foam mouse pad. Throw it away when it comes down to laser mice, they were first made for ball mice and optical mice were made to suit that sort of mouse pad(foamy). i find wood or smooth surfaces to work well with my g9, but for overall laser mice best performance are gritty feeling mouse pads, usually they are stiff like a board. Anyways gl usually that stuff only happens because of the surface it is used on. If it continues doing that it's probably just the product itself.

I don't have the jitter issue and I don't recall ever having it. Although, if you're looking for a mouse pad, the Razer Destructor was made for laser mice. It's a little price heavy (about 40-50 bucks), but way worth it.

Okay I was wrong, the price has gone down. Get this baby.

Yeah the mouse i got is the Razer Lachesis(huge change from the 3 Diamondbacks I've been using for the past 7 years). It has a history of said jitterness that comes with the model and pressing down on the mouse it self. Causing the lachesis to move ever so slightly and just barely move it and cause me to miss click in RTS games. mouse is phenomenal for FPS though, headshottin in CS like toys for tots in haiti.

I got the vespula already on the way over the destructor. The firmware sorta fixed the issue but having a super solid mouse pad with some resistance grains will probably fix said issue. My only problem with these gaming grade mousepads is how fucking HUGE they are. Gonna have to have the right side of my keyboard laying all over it. Don't even use more then a 5x5 square of my mousepad to begin with.

Switching from using the same mouse for 7 years, and switching from optical to laser is quite a change that's for sure. taken me all day to adjust.
