As you can see, we need help and more content! If you have written a guide that you would like to be linked here, please contact me through forum private message, steam message, or IRC. Also, just because someone has written about a topic you wanted to write about doesn't mean you shouldn't write it! We're welcoming multiple guides on the same topics.

If you don't know what to write about, I really need the following guides to be written

--The Demoman Essentials
--The Pocket Soldier Essentials
--The Roaming Soldier Essentials
--Map Pictures with Names of Locations

If you have any interest in writing any of these guides, or a portion of the guide(s), please let me know.

I will be writing medic and roaming essentials articles shortly then. Anyone wanna help out, send me a message.

edit: dear lord, I will be mainly working on the medic essentials to make it look comparable to your scout essentials, and after that is done I will work on the roamer essentials.

Why did you make it look so good? This will require effort. :D

Well it's been a while... See the original post date is Nov 11th, 2010 but I actually wrote it like 2 months before that. And then Jesus said he liked it so he wanted to sticky it, so I reposted it in November.

And I'm constantly updating it with new material when I learn things or discover new pieces to put in. I've also rewritten parts that were incorrect or misleading multiple times. So...I've been writing that article for almost 9 months now lol.

Plus I knew I'd have to put a lot of work into it since scout is easily the most played class in TF2 and the most popular among new players.

edit. this was dumb.

Where do I post it to? I have a rudimentary set up so far. I'd like to reserve a few posts to fit the whole thing as I make it nice and big. I didn't like your outline. D: IM ON FOUR PAGES AND I HAVENT EVEN STARTED ON UBERS OR MID FIGHTS YET WHY AM I DOING THIS OH GOD AND NOW MY CAPSLOCK IS STUCK ON

mrslin

You're making me feel all wobbly inside. I'm getting the tingly tingles.
Also thats fine my outline sucks anyway.

Just go ahead and put it up on your mentor page (http://commforums.com/medic-teams-esea-im-t5447.html?t=5447) as a reply. Continue to edit it and change it. You'll probably have to make multiple posts, so keep that in mind. Once it's finished (for the most part), we'll make a separate page for it, and I'll add it to the list of guides. Don't feel the need to reserve posts, as we'll set that up when the guide actually goes up.

This is my guideline so far:

I have divided this guide into these subguides:

I. Movement and Positioning - Staying Alive
II. Healing: Heal Orders and Triage - Saving Lives
III. Ubers: The best right click since a sticky trap.
IV. Mid: Don’t Panic
V. Other Mechanics and Important Notes: Tricks of The Trade

I just finished up Healing enough for a first post. I'm working on Ubers now. It should be good to go up by the end of tonight, but it'll be eight pages or so maybe. I think it might be too fluffy, but I can edit it down later with input.

Great sounds good.

Yeah now that I think about it, that's similar to how my guide was created too. I thought of the 3-4 most important things and boiled it down to that and then built it up from there.

Like I said, the length doesn't matter. People will enjoy it as long as it's packed with content, easy to read and understand, and helpful for their gameplay.

Adding you on steam so that we stop cluttering up this forum with idle chit chat.

Could write a communications guide, although it may look a bit Spetsnaz-y considering I got my experience from an angry german medic.
Also, roamer guide. Not sure how I would write even a page about "bomb medic / bomb demo ??? profit" :C though :p

mrslin

well i mean just write whatever you got. i'm always looking for more contributions, and multiple people can write about the same topics so if someone doesn't like your angry communications they can write one about saying please after every comm haha

If you don't know what to write about, I really need the following guides to be written

--Map Pictures with Names of Locations

I can help with this as I'm still wanting to learn them all. I'll probably just get overhead screens from tf2logs for now and number the spots and then see if the community here can help me name them. Then I'll get some high rez shots later and make a nice graphic for each map.

Hey yeah that sounds great. I don't know if you already have some programs in mind but gtactix let's you import pictures and then make strategy and diagrams. Ms paint works too ;)

Was just gonna photoshop it up. ;) See my new thread in Ask a Mentor subforum. It'll just be a beta image for each map until I get all the names finalized.
