Is there anyway to play back old demos? I had heard there was but never found out exactly how to do it. I have a lot of things I wish I would have recorded. :frown: I set l4d to not auto update but the hoe did anyways.

In other source games, the community has made a 'old demo loader' which lets you go back to certain times with the right files it is possible. Unless large sections of code were changed.

Happens all the time with big updates in source games so try to big quick about getting your footage into avi form.

So this update was to big to ever get any demos that I recorded a day prior :(, lame....

Typically, any update that they do to L4D will screw your demos. The game is new enough right now that there will be engine updates and not just minor fixes to the game. As ninojman has mentioned, there's been other Source games (CS:S, DoD:S, TF2) in which someone has found/made a standalone version to play back old demos. It's just a matter of someone taking the time to find such a thing or make one.
