Hi,

We are looking for an experienced mentor who can watch a .dem from one of our scrims and give us some general advice on how we can improve as a team.

We are currently in CEVO Amateur league and have our first match coming up.
I think the best thing would be if a mentor could speak to our scrimteam captain: http://steamcommunity.com/id/younggreezy/

We also have a mumble server we could use to talk but a reply to this thread with the findings would be great too! w/e is easiest for the mentor.

Here is the .dem file: http://www.jameless.net/tf/dems/auto-20100827-2159-cp_well.zip

And here are the results of the match: http://www.jameless.net/tf/results/PULP_Well_scrim_27august/

We are team red (with the pF. tag):

Eraserhead - Medic
Young greezy - Pocket
Will - Roamer (he was a ringer for that game)
Ninji - Scout
Rustypan - Scout
Google - Demoman

Our scrimteam is part of a clan: www.pulpfortress.com
We have three servers a 24x7 orange server, a stockmap rotation server and a private match server. Our clan is 1 year old, we started in september 2009.

We are relative newcomers, we have been playing lobby games and scrims (gamesurge IRC) for a few months now. This is the first league we play in.

We are open for constructive criticism, if there are players who need to improve their skill we would like to hear, and specifically what. But i have the feeling our most important improvement should be found in the team chemistry.

I am the sub captain and leader of our clan: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198000960203

well from what I can tell from those stats is that you guys kept losing mid battles, best way to help is if someone can see a demo of what your teams roll-out is

I added young greezy on steam, if you guys just want some advice add me:

Initial reaction from stats alone, there is way to much class shuffling, stick with your classes for the entire scrim and work on that to get your team in sync a bit more. So I would assume there is a discipline issue (players not disciplined enough to stick with the role they need to play).

I can watch the demo a bit later this evening, ping me on steam

Wow, what is this TF2 Log Parser thingy?

Wow, what is this TF2 Log Parser thingy?

It's been out forever and a day, you upload your server log to it, it parses the results into what you saw there, it is dated and does not know about all the newer logging options, but it works. One of the things in MatchMod actually ensures a match exists in a single log file that can be uploaded.

Ohh, Cinq uses the same log for all the pugs in pug.na.

Thanks for all the advice so far guys. Hi Hawkeye, nice to see you here :-).
I'm looking forward to what your conclusions about the mid battles are after watching the demo.

We actually don't switch classes. I think what the log parser shows is the classes we played in pre-game. I didn't play demo, i know that for sure. Only class switching we do is one of our scouts sometimes goes sniper and one of our soldiers goes heavy when defending the last point.

The log parser we use is an abanded project by clan Yoda. The page we got it from is gone.

I'm no experienced mentor, so i'll just talk about ur medic play.

Always be ready to pop the uber; pop when you take a big hit and you don't know where it came from. (you dropped at start of 2nd round). You did have the uber at the start of the 3rd round when they popped crits, but I guess you weren't paying attention or you weren't spamming the right-click button.

You should wait inside the spawn room for your teammates to come out if your the last man standing. For all you know, a scout could have been chasing you and meatshot you as he saw you ust standing outside of the spawn.

That train death, oooooooh. Try to pay attention to the indicator lights when you hear a train coming. I felt that one when I saw it.

Thanks! Only im kinda surprised your only comment is about my medic performance. I intended to get feedback on our complete team with this topic.
