Disclaimer: These rankings consist of my personal opinion and are mainly based of community match results. Please feel free to post your opinion in response but as an active player in this community these are the top teams that I have come across. Hopefully there are other top teams that I have yet to come into contact with and will have the pleasure of playing against soon.

1.Mollywhop #mollywhop
Winners of the first ever infected cup with notable wins over Area 51 & GR. Mollywhop is currently the team to beat and that is a feat not many teams can currently accomplish. Not much else needs to be said about them but they have extensive gaming background and are lead by Xanath.

Play style: Extremely teamwork reliant and with loads of personal skill to back it up. They also rely heavily on picking off special infected before entering any area and are one of the slower moving survivor teams.

2.Area 51 #51
Strong wins over Cuatro & dv8 - I think a match between 51 and mW could go either way but on the day of the cup the win went to mW. With the recent addition of Dog this team has four extremely skilled starters. This is a huge advantage because most of the other top teams have a weak link and are looking for that forth member. I know 51 is just waiting for official redemption and a makeup match is imminent.

Play style: Heavy reliance on personal skill and their team has no weak links. They have one of the strongest infected sides out there and all of their members are capable of landing consistent 25s.

3.Get Raped #GR
What can I say about get raped other then they are one of the funniest teams to play against on top of that they're very skilled. They have previous gaming backgrounds from cs 1.6 and have been in the FPS community for some time. Notable wins over Trinity in the Infected Cup and only lost to mW who went on to win it all.

Play style: Fast and Furious - GR will roll right past you while staying tight and remaining organized. Their style of play is similar to 51 and they are experts at midair bashing hunters.

4.El Cuatro Padrotes #Cuatro
What can be said about Quadro... Quadtro - damn let me try again Cuatro other then they had a notable win over MoB Gaming in the infected cup and went on to lose to 51 in the semi-finals.

Play Style: Fast and skill based similar to 51. They rely on personal skill more than anything but will work together well when necessary.

5.Mob #MoB.l4d & #MoBgaming
I hate to say this but it's the truth MoB had a disappointing showing in the infected cup and I think they can keep pace with any of the other top teams. This team is lead by Stza who is arguably one of the best players in the game today. They have good team work and if they get off on the right foot are more then a force to mess with. Downside of this team from my experience is once they get down they lose momentum and have trouble regaining it. MoB is no doubt looking to redeem itself in the next community event and will put the time necessary to accomplish just that.

Play style: Very team based somewhat like mW but moves much quicker. They don't pick off as often but they do take advantage of special infected spawn timer by Chris Browning at the appropriate times. I don't mean like Chris Brown vs Rhiana but I do mean Running it.

6.Team Inexorable #TeamIneX
Formerly known as Dx this team is extremely skillful. They have some of the best infected setups I've seen and are actually capable of quad capping your team for a complete shutdown. They did lose dog to 51 which definitely moves them down in the ranking and also based on the fact that they missed infected cup all together. I am not quite convinced that iNeX takes the game seriously and I've yet to see if they can fill dog's position with a talented player.

7.Trinity #trinitygaming
Trinity relies almost completely on teamwork though they do have personal skill to go along with it. This team plays the game in a different way than all of the other teams out there. I am one to tease them but I assure you just because they turtle doesn't make them an easy opponent. If Trinity can learn when to speed up the pace and when to slow it down I think they could be one of the best teams in the game. Unfortunately all I've seen from them is an extremely slow paced game that I think gets turned against them.

8.Tree Log Champs #TreeLogChamps
This is a relatively new team at least too me but from what I've seen they are solid. There is a lot of speculation whether or not they use 3rd person view but aside from that they are skillful. They are lead by Kaja who has solid strat calling and their team plays well off of each other. They are also one of the teams who isn't afraid to take risks and make a dash to tier two weapons. They will juke your tank and race it to the safe room given the right opportunity. TLC posses the talent to beat any of the top teams but their brash actions could cost them in a close match.

9.Balls In Your Mouse
This is another team I'd like to see more from. I think they posse the teamwork and skill to do extremely well. They also may be a bit underrated but unfortunately missing the infected cup really hurts them in the rankings. Their play style is a bit more fast passed then a lot of the other top 10 teams but they slow it down when necessary.

10.Up In Smoke #l4d-uis
This is another great team who I feel has yet to really prove themselves. Up in Smoke could be a bit underrated in these rankings as well. This team is lead by Cartire who is sound in every aspect of the game. This is a team I'd really like to see more from especially if this community is going to succeed.

I think you might should've used scrims/gb in the mix to decide rankings (seems like it was mostly based off the Cup), but honestly I don't think you can come up with a set of rankings that isn't flawed until we have more I-Cups or CEVO/CAL (or whatever it'll be called) get into full swing.

The best teams from any game will do things in scrims just to test them out and then when the matches/tourneys come they throw a curve ball at you and its something you haven't seen before. Yes, scrims mean a lot but they are just practice, they don't count towards any records towards any leagues/tourneys so you can't really count them towards anything when doing rankings.

I completely disagree. If one team beats another team by 5000+ points in this game, regardless of the strat used by the other team, that is complete domination. I don't care what strat the other team was using. If both teams were using players from their main roster, and one team wins by a large margin, how could you argue that the win retains no merit?

Anyways, it won't matter. Once cal playoffs come around [read: Assuming CAL doesn't kick the bucket] the real power rankings will come about.

Basically, my rant comes down to the following:

There are teams out there, such as ourselves, that don't lick the dicks of others by idling their IRC channels in exchange for people idling ours, and teams that don't feel they need to jolt the community with their drama. That being said, when your team loses to us, don't try and use the excuse that your team played bad. I'm tired of CREEP'n other people's ventrilos and hearing them say they lost by 5000 points to us because they weren't warmed up.

Go ahead and get shit on, and C U @ DUH CEE PEE EHL.

Dude, #timetrial is always down to scrim. We love practicing against teams that are wise. Always look for us to be scrimming around 7est each day. Normally we have to settle for shit teams, but to the teams that we have beat and given us good scrims, thank you for the wanted competition.

ALSO, I just wanted to point out that I REALLY appreciate the teams that allow us to play our infected side on the finale even though we are up 5k+ points. It really irks me when we play all the way down to a scrim, survivor first the whole time, only to get jewed our infected side on the finale.

Normally, I'd completely agree with you. In this case though, I thought that basing it mostly off the I-Cup was too weak, since most of the teams in the I-Cup played 3 or less games. But like I said, any rankings you do atm will be flawed since there arn't enough leagues/tournaments to really get a good set.

One thing that I definitely agree with is that there has not been enough matches played. We as a community really need to come together and hold an invitational event. I may have missed a top team or two but I think it would be fairly easy to hold a 16 team invitational tournament that would be double elimination format. We definitely need to see the top teams play each other on more then one occasion and I personally would love to see the demos of an official rematch between mw and 51.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who took the time to post and read my rankings. As I said before I do realize that they aren't perfect but I promise to try to improve them if I release followup rankings in the future.

On a last note; it will take a lot of work from a lot of people to make this into a great community. I'd like to thank all of the people who have already worked so hard (comml4d, CAL, Cevo, Icup, etc.) and I'd also like to encourage more of you to contribute.
