Hey all, i was wondering what routes roamers commonly take to assault mid. i've seen some go through the house onto the top of the train, i've seen some jump onto the enemy train, and some jump from the bottom. what do you guys think is the best way to assault mid as a roaming soldier?

As a pyro through their closet (aka the Blackstar pyro). That's actually a very effective strategy, by the way. Some of the most effective soldier strats vary. If your medic is pretty rigid with the pocket/roaming assignments, you might want to consider jumping onto their train after a bit of spam has gone on (make sure to airstrafe), or jump off of your balcony to do so. If your medic is good, you can try assaulting the actual point with both soldiers and the demoman (giving your medic more room to avoid spam). Your medic's skill will be what determines how well this will work. A final strategy (one that we're currently working on) is to send the roaming soldier through valley, to jump straight up onto point and rejoin the combo (hopefully, again, in front of your own cart). Wow, that's a lot of parentheses.

by default, we have our roamer get on the train and shoot downward onto the enemy medic. since the roamer position is a very free position, i can't really teach you a strategy as roamer as much as i can just give you specific tips and let you decide in matches and practices when each specific one would be more appropriate for the situation.
