Okay... so I thought i was doing something wrong with my server. But apparentely many ppl are experiencing this issue. Then I thought "omg it must be sh*tty MidnightGaming, they don't know how to run a decent L4D server".. so i went bitching to them about it... but then I have found ppl with NFo's, velocity, GS, etc.. all having this issue (so my apologies MG for bitching you out about it). Their servers constantly crashing now after the update. I know some ppl have spoken to Smirnov about it, thinking it could be the l4dready mod. But I've removed that, even removed SM and MM from my server... played a campaign, and it crashed at first during the second level... then i restarted... played again.. and crashed in the finale. I can't play a decent scrim anymore. My server crashes all the time.

So... is there only a select few, or are you guys all having this problem too? And if you're not having it, what GSP do you have, and what is ur server running... because I'm trying to get to the bottom of this. Scrimming on my server (and some others i've played on) is almost useless... Its just a waste of time, because it will crash after a few levels.

So... help me out here!

One of our Velocities is doing this. I just assumed Railz failz at running a server, but perhaps not.

its not the server ... its the game (server side). You can constantly ping it when it "times out" Just set your timeout rate for a higher number and your fine.

I just restart my server before every scrim/match and it rarely happens. IF I dont restart it - it happens more often than not.

happens on ours as well... quite often actually... but it usually comes back before a minute has passed so i set my cl_timeout to 60 and i will get back in...

I'll keep that in mind as well because it happens to us, too.

ohhh now all u bastards are finally replying right? LOL... but good i'm glad then that I'm not the only one seeing this... as i've spoken to some other guys personally about this.. and they were experiencing similar issues.

Oh and who was it.... Xanath actualy.. who told me to change my cl_timeout time to like 200 so i simply dont disconnect when it happens, but a few times (rarely tho).. when the server times out.. it will go through the cycle of restarting as well (like a full server crash).. and so u end up connecting to the server with default settings (no cal config) and what not.

Only happens to us when we dont reset the server. Might be diff when we find someone who has cal mod for linux. havent been able to find the d/l :(

This is a different bug. That is just left4dead server not pinging the clients during map changes, and yes changing the timeout will let you reconnect.

The problem that ness is describing (and that we have as well) is different than that, and the server crashes mid-round with no apparant pattern.
