Who would play? Testing with the starting 4 health kits per map only rest pills. Small 8 team tourney - maybe 16 if enough teams are interested. post team name and contact info

why tourney it, why not just release a plugin to test it during scrims now if you have the fix
I mean, im all for a tourney whenever we can get one. But if you have a 4 health pack fix, im willing to scrim with it now to see how it plays.
Otherwise that, our team is always interested, you know that. HAUSEN just find me on irc

Xan.... so i take it u would play with the pill conversion at 0? Because honestly i've always thought thats the best solution... force teams to simply use pill health the whole way.. that way they would definitely have to make the tough decision of when would be the right time to heal... if u wait too long.. u run the risk of getting killed... and if u use it too soon.. it will hurt ur overall health bonus at the end lol... so .. how exactly is this going to be done? Oh and.... i'm going on vacation next Friday for a week... so if the tourney takes place before that.. i'm in.

We'd play (BoS). I'm really getting tired of all the f'ing medkits. I hate dominating a team early only to have 8 medkits spawn on BH3. The reverse makes me upset too when we get dominated early, find 8 medkits and win the round because of the randomness. I just want an even playing field all the way across the board for better or worse. I don't care to lose...I just don't like winning or losing because of this type of chance.

Sounds interesting, I think I'll just get mob to toy with it in scrims.
Save the invite tourneys for double elimination battles! :P
no plugin needed - and I mentioned tourney so that you dont have retards stumbling into a scrim without knowing it. Plus - its not like you wouldnt scrim with it before the tourney - just need something organized so that the people playing in it actually know whats going on and are quality teams whos feedback matter - not some random shit team who agreed to a four health kit scrim because no one else was posting.

I may be asking to get flamed here.....but this mod doesn't seem necessary.

Now that the melee fatigue has been issued.
that or take the fatigue our since we have the cvars.
1 boom on 2-3 guys and you're down minimum 10-15 HP, more so on blood harvest.

Guessing it works but I haven't tried it or heard of anyone else trying it, but I don't know what you expect it to solve since it doesn't decrease the number of spawns, just makes them all pills. Temp health doesn't go down that fast.

this entire paragraph made me dumber after reading it. go sit in your garage with your car on and the door shut. im inviting people from this board to play. and temp health is 1/4 the value of solid health - so yes - it makes a difference.

I'm going to have kfr set this up on our server tonight and hopefully get some teams that want to try it out. I'll report back on how it goes, but it probably won't be until later today.

oh xan... and do add to it... u forgot to mention that each pill gives you 50 hp (temp) as opposed to 80% or ur missing health. ;)

Yeah, I also did sm_cvar director_convert_pills 0 (I think it's for campaign but did it just in case). I just tried it out on our server on nm3, it was all pills except for the ambulance because that's a guaranteed med spawn, just like the meds at the end of the finales.

Keeps teams searching still and to decide when to use them, the default for that is 8, i say put it at 3 minimum or 2.
Depending on the level.
BH1 say 1.
BH5 4 for finale.

As said in that thread.... its gonna suck finding a healthpack you can't use. I dont think that will be a very popular mod.
Anyway... wanted to add that if you're going to be doing the "just pills" mod.. idk if maybe u guys wanna remove the melee stamina thing. Because with only pills around... it'll be hard to jus go at it with pills alone.

i believe thats the command... dont know if u guys would agree to remove the gun swing penalty altogether.. (or even possibly raise it from 4 to something else).. but just throught i'd bring it up.

Problem with that Limited HP mod is that unused medkits still count towards the overall health bonus. From the site, it looks like you can still get the kit just not use it.
Im all for removing the fatigue.
We have the cvars correct?
Yes removing it replaces the gay bashing but without health packs, what more can you do?
Just pills is fine I believe, I don't know how others would feel.
Tank play along with special infected as survivors is going to be huge if we do this but well worth it
It'll deff bring out the "better" teams.
I hate seeing a team with most of their players below 30 or so and still getting a 180+ health bonus
--- I just found that plugin randomly and threw it out there, I didn't think it through =P

the fatigue thing i will ultimately leave to Xan, as he came up with the idea to run a mini tourney / scrims for this. But I think it will compliment well.
i like the fatigue personally. keeps people from bashing through hordes. Christ before you could almost run nm1 bh1 without shooting. but do you take more damage due to it obviously, so with the 4 kits only cfg it might be a bit too much, although I personally dont think so. I do think it should be tested though, maybe we could decrease the penalty for melee coolldown, like the first time it needs to cool down is not that bad, after that it does get real slow. so like a modified cooldown penalty + no extra kits could be good.
