I hope it makes the sniper more of an involved class, like generally it's everyone brawling in the middle and a few weighted companion snipers fighting each other on the ends of the map, this might change things.

seeing as the sniper now has the game's ONLY universal damage buff, it can go with the group and get its hands dirty a bit. the bow aids this w/ the short charge and the immobilizing feature. battlesnipers ftw!

IDK the Spy updates are the things that interest me the most. It is going to be killer!

Completely random drops, you don't even have to be the class that uses the weapon. Graham and I played like 1.5hrs last night and got no weapons, v3locity was in there with us for like an hr and got two, one that he didn't have already (Cloak & Dagger) and one that he did (Sandman). When he looked in his briefcase there were two Sandman's. Not sure why it'll drop items you already have, the only thing I can figure is some kind of gift/bartering/auction-house type feature later.

In other news, I only need 36 more fairy pelts and I can forge my Heroic Gloves of the Whale.

I played some last night but didn't see anything drop. When you find an item its permanent. You can get multiple of the same item, which is for trading items later. The chance for an item to drop is higher the more you play. I like to play some TF2 between playing L4D, can add me on steam if want.

so far, i've already gotten over 20 achievements. I've gotten the jarate, it's decent, but nothing to special. My addiction can't stop cuz I've been playing Tf2 for over 12 hours in the past 24 hours. ^^ oi

Right now its totally random, supposedly Valve will make it so you can increase the odds of the items you're looking for. Just by playing you'll see messages spammed to the match that 'so and so discovered item". I got 4 last night, probably about 1 item and hour. I dunno if I was lucky or if that is the norm.

Is it true that you can get them in spec? IE, if I leave my system spec'ing a server that won't autokick and alt-tab for 24hrs, when I get back will I have itemz?

You can eat them as a Heavy to heal yourself but you are immobilized as you eat them. He says "om nom nom" as he eats.

I played as sniper for about 1 hour total and achieved about 6 achievements... i ended up getting the Shield and Jarate. :]
