The Art of Warfare (TAW) is recruiting mature players for our Left 4 Dead Team. TAW is a well established global multi-game organization with membership that has been live since 2001 with well past 650 players spanning over 13 games on every continent.

We are building several Left 4 Dead teams focused on:

Internal Team vs Team Matches
External Matches vs other teams
CAL and ESL

We are seeking mature players that simply want to play and also those that want to lead teams but not be concerned with things like running a website, a teamspeak server, etc.. but who want to be an integral part of the success of the team.

Our focus is not so much on the game-skills you bring, but more on accountability, teamwork, and communication. We treat all gamers with respect and expect our members to uphold these same team-based sportmanship ethics.

We never put gaming above real life with the team. To be a member you need to:

Have a working microphone or headset. (We use Teamspeak)
Fill out a member application at our main website - (L4D is in the [LD] division. USA = 1Bn, EU = 2Bn)
Be generally available 2 nights per week for team-play.
Feel free visit our main website at http://www.taw.net or visit our "Left 4 Dead" forum.

In the interim, feel free to grab a TAW member for a game or two so you can see if we're what you're looking for - and vice versa We have a Steam group and more members will be available as a point of contact there as we get the invites out to them!

Steam Community :: Group :: TAW Left 4 Dead (http://steamcommunity.com/groups/TAW_L4D)

My personal experience in TAW has been very positive. There are always people online that you can invite to have a game with and the clan is stable and will definitely not die anytime. It's exciting to be a part of this growing experience. I'm the Head Drill Instructor (HDI) in the L4D division, and will be helping out the new recruits. Feel free to ask me any questions in this thread.

Played against a few TAW guys yesterday in a pub and they left on the first map after getting incapped. Not ruling out that it may be different people, though. But i'm a nobody.

I don't know about that. My personal experience playing alongside TAW members has been that they don't really quit unless they have a legitimate reason; real life or a training match.

Oh and I forgot to mention, the Left 4 Dead division by itself has about 65 people in it.

We do. It's divided up into North America division and Europe division. We have 3 servers to play on. We never have problems with playing time, and if we ever have a very strong showing with little absences then we just form our squads and play either PuGs or campaign.

8 years and still going. Obviously this system works.

If I join would I get to play?

No, this recruitment post is to get people to sit on our virtual bench. :p

I was in a big ranked clan once, they're actually alot of fun if you just want people to play with rather than a competitive team.

:) TAW embraces this aspect as well as a competitive side. I agree that casual players can definitely enjoy benefits of people to play with for fun, but would also like to add that we have members that are very competitive, and we scrim other clans all the time. It depends really on what the members want and what they are looking for. Right now we have a pretty even split, but it works out nicely.

It can be done, but it's much more difficult in bigger clans. The only feasible way to do is to declare a team off-limits except to those good enough to be on it (4-7 people) and have another team for the more casual players.

Any more than 7 people, while you might be a decent team, you'll never have the teamwork to compete at the higher levels.

Right now we only have 6 people (on North America side) that are interested in serious competitive play, but as that number grows we will divide them up into different teams that play together.

I played against TAW 2 nights ago in a scrim. We both had our off nights. We (261) came out on top, it was a fun game. Nice people.

you TAW members are kind of difficult to get a hold of just to discuss the information regarding your organization. I'm not going to apply to some damn website and fill out a bunch of shit just to find out in the end that your competitive team isnt worth the effort to play with.
(NOTE: not saying anything about your actual teams, its just so difficult to find out whether your team is worth the effort to join that you probably wont get many decent competitive recruits.)

I'm not asking you to do that. The TAW Steam Community page is designed so that you can contact us, but I'll just send you my info and we can talk on Steam.
