Hey there, I'm mesr. My steam profile can be found here (http://steamcommunity.com/id/mesr).
I don't really use IRC... sorry. But I'm always on steam so go ahead and message me with whatever!
I'm from Southern California, so expect a PST time-schedule.
Edit: I get a lot of questions about this, so I'll just say I'm looking for generally 8PM PST and beyond.
Availability: Currently unavailable.
Primarily, I am a scout mentor. It is my main class that I've played competitively at an open, intermediate, and invite level (although I experimented a bit with soldier at the beginning of my career; not a pretty sight). Even so, I can give other classes tips and general strategy on the game based on past experience and along with help from good friends of mine who play other classes at a high-level. I've discussed Team Fortress 2 and shared inside knowledge of the game with some of the best (for example, vhalin, who happens to be a mentor on commft as well). If you're looking to be the next carnage or yz50, look elsewhere; I'll show you a more safe, passive, and defensive style to scout that relies on smarts, timing, and precision, rather than your aim. I think of myself as a pretty friendly guy, and I hope to be helpful to you/your team.
With that said, there are a few requirements you must meet in order for me to consider mentoring you.
Player
ESEA-O/CEVO-A - Please have some experience in the more popular leagues. That way I know you're at least committed.
Criticism - A big part of this game is learning from your mistakes. Don't get angry if I say something, I'm only trying to help.
Rage -Don't get worked up. It's fine to rage a little in game, but don't carry it out of the game.
Teams
Have a starting six - This is important. Having a dedicated six will get my attention.

With that out of the way, I'd like to quote my buddy vhalin:
I'm not trying to be exclusive, or a hard ass, but I have these requirements so that I don't feel like a failure when I'm unable to help you because you or someone on your team doesn't have the right attitude for improving. I'm here to help you improve, but I am however limited by how bad you want to improve. I truly want to help everyone, but often times I can't help people with the problems out of our control.
Currently, I am not on a team. I also have no serious plans to start on a team at the moment or in the near future due to connection issues, so my time is yours. But availability can be kind of strange for me. We can discuss times that can work for you and me.
I've been playing TF2 since CAL was still around, and started getting competitive around the time of the OCZ tournament back in '09. TF2 is not my first competitive game, but it is definitely the one I put the most time into.
My notable accomplishments in TF2 are as follows:
Harmonic (ESEA-O S4 2nd/CEVO-A S4 1st)
Blight Gaming (ESEA-I S6 1st/CEVO-P S5 2nd)
Blight Gaming (ESEA-I S7 3rd/CEVO-P S6 3rd)
Sorry for the long read, I hope to be of assistance in the near future.
