Hello guys, it is me, NeoRussia. I am now looking for a team, as my old team decided that having 4 soldiers is not a good idea. So anyway I shall begin by listing my background in competitive gaming from the start. I worked my way to the top back in UT2k4, which was my second game that I played competitively, the first one was Halo 2, but that was short and I couldn't really place myself in any league because Xbox live is sub-par. I worked myself up several leagues, mostly community ones. After it died off I played some other games (TF2 when The Orange Box came out) non-competitively for a while, although still keeping my love for Starcraft where it is and playing it once in a while, both on bnet and iccup, although I gave up when I heard SC2 was being released. Meanwhile I was burning through divisions in TF2. I began myself as a scout in lower community leagues and PUGs, bless the men who taught me how to play my role. That's you nQa. I played with No Questions Asked for a while, but in the end I could not even play at a division 3 level back then. I took myself through many PUGs and community leagues since then, deciding to play soldier. And so there I was, nearly touching the sky of division 2 which is playoffs, just 1 spot off being in the champion ring. So to get to my summary, I am looking for a team of a similar variety and beyond, mainly those involved in the open/free leagues of ESEA and CEVO, as well as the Main division. I possibly am looking to be in TWL again, perhaps div 1 if it is still alive or back to div 2. I can play demoman and scout at a tad lower level than my soldier, but still looking to fill those roles, and soldier I can play both roaming and pocket. So to recap:

Current teams which NeoRussia is affiliated with:

Cleveland Cavaliers : BBall
(Harbleu, Aaronlol, NeoRussia)

Past teams:

Princeton Plainsboro - ESEA-O, TWL Div2, CEVO
(Pocket Soldier)

Team Simplicity: FA 6vs6
(Captain - Soldier/Scout)

MeatShot Orchestra: 4vs4 KotH
(Captain - Scout/Soldier)

Dem Hobbos Stealan mUh Air Jordans (DHSUx): TF2 BBall
(Captain)

No Questions Asked: 6vs6 TWL Div 3
(Scout/Soldier)

Discobeez: 6vs6 ESEA-O, TWL, UGC, XPL
(Scout/Soldier)

Other games: Quake Live
Organized Demise : http://www.ggl.com/index.php?controller=Clan&method=view&TeamId=17144

http://www.esea.net/users/382485 - ESEA
http://www.teamwarfare.com/viewplayer.asp?player=NeoRussia - TWL

Thank you all for your consideration in reading my post, I am looking forward to talking to the many nice people in this community ;3

You should link your gotfrag looking threads.

You're absolutely right, tl;dr. Nah, just kidding. Hopefully someone picks you up, you're a great solly to play with.

you played solly for like 2 UGC games. at least be honest in your threads. same with plainsboro; pretty sure you formed in the offseason. as in you have no exp under any of those teams.

I've played in div 2, up to the end. I did sign up late though, but I played perfectly at a div 2 level, which is what matters most. I played lower leagues with Discobeez, that was some time ago.

This isn't gotfrag method. If you think that I'm wrong about my experience then you should at least be able to prove that I can not play on the same level on a team that is capable of playing in open leagues or the top divisions of TWL.

whatever, he's a nice enough guy; i remember the demo on plainsboro (vonsomething?) kept telling him to shut up/stop ghosting during my tryout though :>

if you think he's fit for your div2 team, then try him out; if you think he's fit for your div4 team; try him out.

honestly the tf2 community is retarded in this way >_>

I think you are being dishonest. You claimed you played in ESEA-O, but correct me if I'm wrong, MD didn't have an ESEA-O team. Also, you have no matches on your ESEA profile, so I think you are misleading in that aspect. Also, you didn't mention that you were a back up on MD, you make it sound like you were a starter.

I can see how that could be misleading, should have mentioned it, an error on my part. I did not play in ESEA-O, just in TWL, the leagues I listed are not the ones I played in but the ones the teams were going to take part, as well as the ones registered but not yet played. As mentioned in the first part of the paragraph I played only the TWL and miscellaneous lower and community leagues for my teams, and I was the main pocket soldier for MD for a while.

Leo I couldn't find anything on the info you posted, can I get a link to your profile? Feel free to add me as a friend, I'll make sure to keep a slot open. You can also contact me on most gamesurge channels, try #tf.pug.na or #tf2.ringer

Recalling a GotFrag post from 4 months ago and using it to essentially troll is pretty crappy, IMO. Since when do people go WAY out of their way for a TF2 background check on someone they don't think is a good player? Checking ESEA profiles, doing research on previous league teams.. is it really worth the time to simply troll some dude's thread on CommFT?

That being said, I've played with NeoRussia a few times, and scrimmed quite a few times back in the day when he was with nQa. Seems like a cool guy and seemed to know what he's doing. I can't really attest to his skill level as it has been quite a while since I've played any kind of competitive with him. Certainly worth a look, though.

Good luck finding a team.

Method is just the typical gotfragger, talking shit any chance he gets for some +rep.

Anyway, I played with Neo in Organized Demise for a bit and he was good. And from what I've seen good at tf2 as well.

you act like it didn't take me 3 minutes to get that thread. notice the most important points from these threads is
1. nobody from his last team has said good things about him and

2. "@ Neo-

I usually don't give people that have been on a team with me bad recommendations, and normally don't torch people in public (except Sunny who just leaves himself open to it), however in your case I will make an exception!

As a teammate you are terrible! You rage and insult people, you don't have the concept of what a team is nor do you really want to be part of one. Your communication sucks and you don't show up for practices or scrims. You are far from a mid level soldier or scout. You are far too inconsistent to be either.

For those of you actually considering adding Neorussia to your team (not that I think any of you actually are) don't!" was the only person who spoke about him from his old team

Method is just the typical gotfragger, talking shit any chance he gets for some +rep.

I see that you quoted Cygnus. Yes he actually is a very nice person and for him to have been the leader of nQa and dislike me is a very bad thing for me, but this was a long time ago. nQa was my first ever team. I couldn't believe the asked me to play since they were div3, which is pretty high for a starting player who knows nothing about competitive TF2. Yes I raged a lot, and had instances where I just didn't say anything because I knew I would just rage about it, but that was a very long time ago, and since then I have dedicated myself climbing the ranks and now I am a strong player. If you do not agree ask any of my newer teammates, they will tell you I'm not the type who rages.

NeoRussia is cocky and bad. Would definitely fit in with a top UGC team.

Rail_Wolf has failed to do his job so I'll do it for him.

NeoRussia is a great soldier, and everyone who says otherwise obviously has no idea what senseplay and strong teamwork is. Back in 2008 when we played on clan Yup! together, I saw great potential in him. He had amazing positiong, and his senseplay was just unreal. Since then he has only improved, with a solid team he could easily dominate at a high/mid level.

Mentored neo russia for a bit. He seems like a good guy and willing to learn new things. I would say when I specced him and mentored him it was a month ago. So I saw him recently and would have to say he gets tunnel visioned like most low/mid soldiers and seems too eager to frag, then do what's best for the team. I don't know how he plays now or if he's improved, but at that time I would rank him at a low/mid level.

Anyways I didn't see to much rage in him and he seemed like an ok guy like I said in the beginning. Good luck! :)

pugged with him a couple times, got to medic him once in a -nQa- pubstomp (I think) Not bad at all: nice guy, decent soldier, tends to listen to whoever appears to be calling strats (you can never really tell in pickups)

wow i guess gotfrag sprung a leak.

contrary to everyone else's epeen(oh sorry, i mean "Opinion"), Neo's a decent solly, has pretty good comms, great DM in most situations and solid air shooting. obviously there are some areas which need work, but if there were'nt he'd be pro(meaning everyone can work on SOME aspect of their game) He usually listens well and has pretty good prediction and reading what other players will do

he never rages at teammates, dont recall him showing rage at all really(which is surprising as most of our team does frequently and we laugh about/make fun of it later, or persistently)

looking at the current D2 teams he'd fit in well, or with teams around #20 in past ESEAo or high Cevo am

for the record we let him go as we at Princeton Plainsboro are an equal opportunity group and our other sollies actually have reliable internetz now and dont DC during every other uber(*cough* our pocket..) and we have three scouts and like to have every active member play on a regular basis which would not happen with 9 active on the roster(4 scouts(with one that also sollies sometimes) + 3 sollies), so we felt it was best he found another team so that he could play consistently, and our ~8 could as well.

oh and we didnt play esea open last season cuz we're cheap.

ps leave the trolling to gotfrag and get Neo a team

I don't think method is trolling him, he has an honest opinion. But I don't think he should defend his opinion in someone's elses looking thread. He stated it and that's fine enough

Are we going to start censoring opinions and use the excuse that we're trolls from gotfrag if what we say isn't always in the favor of said person?

I hope not cause then these forums will just die in such a restricted atmosphere.

anyways, just my take on the matter and no I'm not arguing my opinion on neorussia. :)

Good luck

Good luck Neo!!!!

Don't set your bar too high either. If a team wants you to play for them and they are not at the "skill level" you wanted, just ride it out. Its good to build team chemistry on ANY level.

Pretty under rated player.
No super smart(compared to higher level I guess) but good DMer and knows the class pretty well.
