I'd like to do a little brainstorming. What does gotfrag offer that CommFT doesn't? In other words, what is the draw?

Hopefully if we can figure this out then we can make CommFT the home of NA tf2 forums instead of using an outdated website like gotfrag.

The ability to make alt accounts and talk about other players without your reputation being harmed.

But that's something we'd all like CommFT to stray away from.

I go there because it's funny in a pathetic sort of way.

I say stupid shit on my real account though. Doing it wrong amirite.

But for anything other than being amused by a bunch of spotty nerds talking shit to each other on alts, I come to CommFT.

GotFrag receives more traffic and I like reading stupid threads.

more entertaining, however I feel this website is more informative.

I need the latest TF2 Gossip and news feed. I get a little from here, but not that much to keep coming back..but I do anyways because GF is blacked on my computer at work =(

I used to read commft a lot more than gotfrag when grieve/sigma were always posting. That stopped a while ago, so now I think commft and gotfrag are pretty much on the same par.

That question likely should be it's own thread..

But my hope is basically the Sports Center (ESPN reference) of TF2.

recruitment... once you get past a certain level, the only place to find players is gotfrag

shdwpuppt is right, I don't see any mid- to mid+ players advertising on CommFT. We need to encourage them to come to CommFT. Sooner or later gotfrag is going to slowly die. You can't register on the site anymore which is a good thing for us? idk we have to get everyone on the same page here.

gotfrag is more fun/silly. If you can allow some of that here and just moderate it a little bit, there might be better luck getting ppl over here. I like a little harmless gossip/trolling/controversy sometimes. o_O

commft needs more smart people in general- we got slin who sorta counts, and I guess a few low IM medics (something that isn't too impressive given the massive demand for medics nowadays), and like 5 invite people with a total of 10 posts

Sigma posts here a fair amount, and he's probably the smartest guy in TF2.

I lurk gotfrag because it has really entertaining posts. I would browse here a lot more if higher level players posted more often.
