My imploring post from the front page:
With the ESEA and CEVO seasons coming to their respective closes (be sure to stay tuned for ESEA and CEVO-FREE finals coverage), the offseason is as fully upon us as it's going to get. The TWL preseason (http://www.teamwarfare.com/viewleague.asp?league=Team+Fortress+2%3A+NA+-+6v6+Season+5) is the only event with matches running after the ESEA and CEVO finals matches are completed. That does not mean that event hosting organizations are idle; Alienware tournament (http://www.alienwarearena.com/event/killeredge/schedule/) signups are open until the 29th of November and ESEA registration (http://www.gotfrag.com/tf2/forums/thread/416045/) is open until the 30th. ESEA has announced that their Season 5 Invite playoffs will host the top 4 teams at LAN and CEVO has indicated that the results of the Alienware tournament will possibly determine placement in their fifth season. It is definitely an exciting time for the game as the community looks towards the winter and 2010.
Although CommunityFortress is as excited as the rest of the community, we need more writers to cover all of these events. You can see the size of our current staff on the About page (http://communityfortress.com/site-info/about/) and although there are some very dedicated individuals with us, we simply do not have the numbers to represent North America like it needs to be represented. Many within the community express an desire for articles like those written for Resupply.eu and such content is impossible without the support of the community in the form of contributions.
If you are interested in writing daily, weekly, or periodic articles on competitive TF2, get at me. We need the North American community to step up outside of the game itself and show the rest of the world that we aren't anywhere near dying. I know from our traffic numbers that we have a sizable number of readers and I am asking you, lurker, to get in touch with me and help make a difference for your community. The more powerful our website presence is, the more interest we will generate with sponsors and organizations oriented towards competitive gaming.
COMON GUYS!!!! Stop lurking and get involved. I can almost guarantee that I have less free time than you and yet I still shell out for this community. Post here if you are interested in writing about any of the leagues or events.
