Quoting out of context, shit yeah. You knew what I meant in that thread unless you're intentionally trying to reverse troll me, which wouldn't be surprising at all. All the PC gets now is casual games and console ports, so we're forced to suck at the teet of the big companies and hope they throw us a bone. Games that're actually designed for the PC are a thing of the past, thus making the true PC FPS a dead genre. It doesn't mean that no one will play these games, it just means that the past of games like CS 1.6, UT99, Quake 3A are gone now, and honestly have 0% chance of coming back. Back in the day, you had a wide selection of actual PC developed games to choose for competition, now you have console ports and are forced to choose the one that's the least terrible.

I'm sorry if that's out of your realm of understanding. Left 4 Dead 2 is not dead, and it's not going to die no matter how much this community claims it will, but the scene overall has suffered greatly.

Honestly, I thought it would take at least near the same realm of skill (which wasn't much) as L4D1. It turned out to be a kiddy game with terrible dynamics and design. The maps are garbage and the SI are 1-hit wonders (meaning, you miss and you're fucked. You hit, and you're probably going to be cleared if the other team doesn't have down's). It got so boring so fast that a lot of people decided to find games that are more fun/have a higher skill ceiling.

It's only fun when you haven't hit the ceiling. The best players in this game (Eximius, surg, most of 51, jerkstore, myself, <additional "from-release" player that has won stuff) don't play because there's nothing left to challenge them . It's just stagnant bullshit now. Don't get me started on the scoring system lol.

It's a good game to pub with a friend or two, but it's just not that balanced.
