Configs: Configs can be downloaded HERE. Any questions about the use of the configs should be directed at Graham via forum PM.

Registration: Teams must be registered by a captain on CommFT in the registration thread on the forums. Registration ends Saturday, August 20th 2011 at midnight EST. Each team must make a team thread and list all rostered players (6 starters and up to 3 subs) with name, Steam ID, and a link to the player's Steam Profile. Un-rostered players will not be eligible to compete in the tournament (see Mercs rule below for the only circumstance in which they are eligible). Teams may play with fewer than 6 players on any given match night since there is no minimum number of players a team must have--the only automatic forfeits are for fielding un-rostered players without approval or for having 0 players in the server at the time the match commences. Sign-ups are open to anyone who registers as a captain on the forum and posts in the thread. Roster additions/alterations will be allowed until the end of the first week of the single elimination stage but teams must contact me (via Steam or via PM on the forums) to alter rosters on the registration thread. After week then, rosters will remain unchanged.

Mercs: Mercs or ringers are not allowed unless both teams agree. Disputes about mercs cannot be brought after both teams have agreed to their inclusion.

Tournament Format/Groups: The tournament consists of two stages: a group play stage and a single elimination stage. At the end of registration, known teams will be seeded and placed into different 4-team groups according to their seeds; unknown teams will be randomly placed into these groups alongside their seeded opponents. Once the groups are formed, teams will play every team in their 4-team group on cp_badlands. Just like the soccer World Cup, teams will receive 3 points for a win and 0 points for a loss (there won't be any ties). After all of the group matches have been played in each group, these points will decide the ranking of the teams in each group. The top two teams in each group will proceed to the single elimination stage of the tournament while the bottom two teams in each group will be unable to proceed. If there are any ties in the rankings of teams in groups, the ties will be broken by comparing the following parameters of the tied teams:

1) Greatest point difference in group matches (this means in-game points; e.g. a 4-2 win is 2 points of this sort).
2) Greatest total points scored in group matches (once again, in-game points; e.g. a 5-0 win is 5 points of this sort)
3) Head-to-head point difference of tied teams (in-game points; see #1)

Seeding: Seeding will be based on ESEA S9 rankings. Seeds will be placed into different groups based on their seed number (1 will go in group 1, 2 will go in group 2, 3 will go into group 3, etc). Any team that did not play ESEA S9 will be randomly placed into groups alongside seeded teams.

Matches/Servers/Default Day: Matches can be played on servers owned by competing teams or on a CommFT server at a day/time mutually agreed upon by the competing teams. Teams should contact Graham prior to their match to request a server (the sooner the better, a day prior is best). Any server that is used for competition must be operating with the official configs exec'd. The teams must contact one another via the Steam information provided in their sign-up thread. If a mutually agreed upon time cannot be reached, the teams must either come to an admin (Free or Graham) to arbitrate the dispute or they must play on the default day at a time chosen by one of the aforementioned admins. The default day is Thursday for both conferences.

Disputes and Demos: All players must record personal demos of their matches. SourceTV demos are not sufficient. In the case of a dispute, the teams may attempt to mediate the dispute themselves. Failing that, the dispute may be brought before an admin, either Graham or Free, for mediation. The admin will ask for a copy of the demo from the player or players in question, review it, and make a decision. All admin decisions are final. No appeals may be made.

Cheating: The use of any assistance software such as aimbots, wrappers, hooks, hacks, etc. will result in an immediate forfeit for that team and an admin review of the team's eligibility for the remainder of the tournament.

Sportsmanship: Everyone must abide by a standard of sportsmanship in their interactions with opposing teams and officials. Teams and individuals may not harass opponents or officials in any manner. Teams and individuals may not attempt to influence the match environment in any way that could be construed as harassment (insulting opponents, griefing with pauses, spamming server commands, spamming via chat, etc).

Rules for Push Maps:

Push maps, such as cp_badlands, will have two 30-minute halves for a total of 60 minutes of play. At halftime, teams will switch sides. In terms of scoring, push maps are first to 5 points (or whoever has the most points at the end of 60 minutes). If one team gets 3 points in the first half before the end of the 30-minute timelimit, the half ends (that team would need to get only 2 point in the second 30-minute half to win the game). If there is a tie at the end of regulation, teams should re-exec the config and play one more round. Whoever wins that round wins the match.

Rules for KOTH Maps:

KOTH maps, such as koth_viaduct and koth_lakeside, will have two 20-minute halves for a total of 40 minutes of play. At halftime, teams will switch sides. In terms of scoring, KOTH maps are first to 4 points. If one team gets 3 points in the first half before the end of the 20-minute timelimit, the half ends (that team would need to get only 1 point in the second 20-minute half to win the game). If there is a tie at the end of regulation, teams should re-exec the config and play one more round. Whoever wins that round wins the match.

Rules for Stopwatch Maps:

Stopwatch maps, such as cp_gravelpit and cp_gorge, will be scored using the best of three (bo3) format. Each round, both teams will attack and defend. The first team to win two rounds will win the match. There is no time limit for this map.

- One round consists of each team attacking and defending once. One point is given to the winning team of each round (one round is equal to one point). The first team to win 2 rounds of the three wins the entire match. There is no time limit for stopwatch maps.
- All stopwatch maps will follow an ABBA format: Team A attacks and team B defends. Next round, team B attacks and team A defends. If the third round is played, team A will be the attacking team.
- Match Reporting - After each team attacks and defends, the team who did so the fastest (or captured more points, if both teams fully defend) receives one point for that half (no extra point is awarded for successfully defending).

Push rules updated above so that halftime is reached after 3 points and not 4 as per the current ESEA rules.

"If one team gets 3 points in the first half before the end of the 30-minute timelimit, the half ends (that team would need to get only 2 point in the second 30-minute half to win the game)."

Also - configs thread linked above is updated with configs.
