I agree, it should, but will it? On a CommFT server tonight, I believe, so no one will have RCON.

I would get in touch w/ a commft admin and see if they can take care of it for you before you match beings. From what I've heard they're pretty cool people to deal with.

Configs seem to suggest yes, as they show a 5 slot one in text.

Default Disputing matches

Recently we played a team that exhibited extremely poor behavior in game. They were mic spamming, chat spamming, being very rude, and even at one point they were spamming commands that were pausing the match. At several points they were blaming the server for being of poor quality until we figured out they were spamming pause.

Can we dispute the match with them, or possibly get them disqualified? This behavior is absolutely ridiculous and it pretty much ruined the match. I haven't found any rules about this sort of behavior or a process to dispute it.

This is what I'm talking about: http://commforums.com/week-4-na-bing...2799#post62799

I am not quite sure what the ruling is for CommFT Highlander, but in ESEA there is a limit to the number of pauses allowed by each team in each match played. Once you reach the limit, there are no more pauses allowed or else your team is disqualified. Also, when you pause you're supposed to notify the other team before you unpause so that it is fair.

In terms of mic spam, chat spamming, and being rude, that is all acceptable. It's like any other game in sports. Some teams are nice and polite, and others are rude and exhibit unsportsmanlike behavior.

Well spamming the pause key ~20-30 times at two or three different points in the match would be considered disqualifying I would hope.

I am confused. Did you find a rule in the CommFT Highlander rules that disallows this? Or are you asking about this for future matches?

To be honest, we expected good sportsmanship out of all teams playing. So far, almost all have complied. We also never expected to have to limit pauses, but what xxx did during your match was uncalled for and interferes with play.

As I posted in your match thread, Graham and I will be taking a look at this.

The difference is that in most other sports, it is illegal. FIFA Laws of the Game lists unsporting behaviour and dissent by word or action as cautionable offenses (yellow card) and "using offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures" as a sending off offense (Red card). I am sure similar things can be said for officiated sports that I am less familiar with.

It all goes back to how we can improve the prospect of e-sports in the future. We would be well to try and enforce sportsmanlike conduct in matches.

What are the standards of sportsmanship, and what warrants "dick-cheese" behavior? I could not find it in the rules section.

Here's a scenario: a team abuses the pause feature while the match is live (during set-up, after teams have readied), argues incessantly with the opposing team over previous agreements, and harasses the opposing team with less than friendly chat messages. Then, when the match is disputed, this team trolls the match thread. The opposing team has had to deal with so much hoo-ha that the match is neither fun nor fair; pausing and unpausing is, let us say, akin to smacking the controller out of someone's hand--that alone is enough to get an over-turn.

You've confused us with GotFrag.

Go home and be a family man.

The standards of sportsmanship that we expect from teams and players are not detailed in the rules. Nevertheless, they are expected of all teams; all teams are expected to exercise their own reasoning abilities to know how to act in their interactions with their opponents.

In our overturning of the match in question, we applied these standards and found xxx|666 in clear violation.

well, there are 3 teams that will be in the lower bracket finals and grand finals (3 for NA and 3 for EU actually, but that's besides the point)

of those 3, one of them (the one that worked its way up through the lower bracket) will have played all of the maps, whereas the other two (the team that lost the ub finals and the team that won it) will not

therefore, the maps should a) be ones that 2/3 of the teams have missed out on and b) ones that they actually WANT to play

the maps are glacier, badlands, badwater, and gorge

I'm imagining that the teams will not want to play glacier, and would probably prefer badlands and badwater to gorge

if any older maps are to be brought back, upward is the most universally loved

I say do badwater for lb finals and badlands/upward for ub finals, that way a repeat only happens if it goes to 2

Badlands is a very boring Highlander map from experience. Sniper dominates the choke point, pushing last is incredibly hard but not as hard as re-capping spire.

Which map would be preferred - pro or not?

As for the rules, I need to figure those out. What are the current EU rules on CTF maps for 6v6?
