Default Mumble Watching Parties for to make great entertainment glorious TF2 Community of CommFT

Update:
MUMBLE PARTY ON SUNDAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY

Mumble Info: mumble.instagib.org (default port)

Finals of the Brazilian Ferias do Barulho tournament in the BR tf2 community. We'll get to watch the best that the BR community has to offer!

fyi note that 2200hrs in brazilian time is Sunday, 8pm EST

the maps will be follower, gorge, and doublecross

---
Hey there.

So after watching the AMAZING Teamliquid StarLeague broadcast with a random guy I met on Ventrilo, I was reminded that the Alienware Arena Grand Finals was going down immediately after the TSL broadcast ended. The guy I told about it was interested in watching because he just so happened to play TF2 as well.

When the Alienware Arena Grand Final match was delayed for about an hour, I decided to take the time to spam people on my friends list to join us on a Mumble server that I hijacked from Hawkeye (I hope you didn't mind, man!) and word quickly spread throughout the SourceTV relay, which jinn was just so nice to let us in on, that there was a shoutcast on Mumble.

So by the time the hour delay was finished, we had a good 15 to 20 people in the Mumble server and we had a good time watching and talking about the match.

I'm posting this thread here because we all enjoyed the watching party enough to want to do it again some time. So I'm going to update this thread with information that we can use to get together and further organize. Maybe we can even try having me and eXtine commentate the matches on Mumble like ArX used to do in the ETF2L last year. However, at the very least it can just be a watching party like it was tonight.

So, to the guys who joined us from the sourceTV relay: thanks for joining us.

And thanks also to the Brazilian guys who were so cool to tell me about the TF2 BR community. It turns out that its not just NA, EU, and AU! There's also apparently a BR now, too. It makes me very happy to see that TF2 is growing and coming more and more together.

So yeah, I'll update this thread whenever we feel like doing this again.

I'll be all over that next time for sure. Add me on Steam so I can know when it's happening. :)

Seems like something we could organize through the CommFT Steam group, or perhaps you could create one just for the purposes of announcing events.

Might as well do it through the CommFT group. Should try partnering with pwnage.tv too that'd be useful.

It would be better, just announce and everybody will see, don't need to spam to everybody.

ps: Thanks for remind the brazilian community

i doubt leogeo would want us not listening to his broadcast so the pwnage.tv idea might not work out.

but i love the commFT steam group event idea! i didn't think of that one at all. i'll try to get administrator on that group if i don't already so i can post it on there as an event and then update this thread about it for those who aren't in the group but come here anyway.

If you post just an announcement, a window pop-up to everyone on the group, we do this in Brazil for PUGs.
And I don't know there, but if the thing get too public, maybe some guys will come just to disturb, then will have to enable the speaking to just some guys, and I don't know if this is possible on mumble. Or get an admin on the server for ban someone it's enough, I think.

@chipbuster
Thanks

That mumble server is 100 slot. I know of no bandwidth limitations on it, so I am curious as to when they will say something to me. Feel free to use it :-).

I think that next Monday sounds good for watching an ESEA-Invite match. I don't see any match times to work with though but I'm sure it'll be in the evening.

Here's the link to the page for next Monday: http://esea.net/index.php?s=league&d...n_level=invite

Gorge and doublecross are stock maps. Doublecross being played in 6vs6 is something I must see, although I'm nearly almost sure it will go all silly and not be a fun game to watch.

Férias do Barulho means Wild Vacation or something like that.
This is a "4fun" championship, just to not let the teams retired for 2 or 3 months, (it's summer on Brazil) to test those maps to enter the main maplist, and also to test the new unlocks for demo/sold.

And yes, we play stock maps like badlands, granary, gravelpit, etc, but on the main championship, we have some side champs to break the routine.

Glad to have you guys there to see how do we play, it's gonna be an awesome final

Just a reminder guys: Mumble party tomorrow night at 8pm EST!

There will be Brazillian commentators that night on TGBF.tv broadcasting the match and I will be needed to be with them for a while, translating for Schetter so that they know what to do.

When I can break away though, I will join you guys in the Mumble server and we'll hang out.

At 9pm EST I will have to go afk for a soccer match and probably not be back until 10pm EST.
